Plans are underway for Winter Field Day in Kent and Sussex Counties for any licensed amateur wishing to participate regardless of club or group affiliation. Due to the issues created by the continuing Covid Pandemic, the KCARC and Kent County ARES, and the Sussex County AUXCOMM Group will combine in the “club aggregate score” provision of the Winter Field Day Rules for 2022. (see winterfieldday.com). The “club” will be the Kent Sussex Emcomm Group. This allows any participating operator to use their own station and callsign, entering in any applicable category and class of station.
Sussex AUXCOMM is working on a possible Outdoor location for anyone wanting to experience that aspect of Winter Field Day. If you are interested, ASAP send an email to [email protected], indicating your interest. This would be a “daylight only”. on Saturday and/or Sunday operation. If there’s not enough interest we will forgo the effort to put a station out there.
We’re suggesting for “Home” stations to plan on operating HF and VHF/UHF simplex to maximize your multipliers. We will coordinate simplex frequencies to help you maximize your score.
